Nach dem Eurovision Song Contest in Turin gehen die Veranstalter Hinweisen auf mögliche Manipulationen beim zweiten Halbfinale nach. In sechs Ländern seien Unregelmäßigkeiten bei der Jury-Abstimmung festgestellt worden, teilte die Europäischen Rundfunkunion EBU in der Nacht zum Sonntag mit.
After the Eurovision Song Contest in Turin, the organizers are investigating indications of possible manipulation in the second semi-final. In six countries, irregularities were found in the jury voting, the European Broadcasting Union EBU announced on Sunday night.
Ländernamen wurden zunächst nicht genannt. Es sei stattdessen in den betroffenen Ländern ein Mittelwert aus den Punkten von anderen Staaten gebildet worden, die ähnlich abgestimmt hätten. Details wurden nicht genannt.
Country names were not mentioned at first. Instead, an average was calculated in the countries concerned from the scores of other countries that had voted in a similar way. Details were not given.
"Die EBU nimmt alle mutmaßlichen Versuche, die Abstimmung beim Eurovision Song Contest zu manipulieren, äußerst ernst", hieß es in einer Mitteilung. Die Rundfunkunion habe das Recht, die betroffenen Stimmen zu entfernen - auch wenn diese den Ausgang beeinflussten.
"The EBU takes all alleged attempts to manipulate voting in the Eurovision Song Contest extremely seriously," it said in a statement. The broadcasting union has the right to remove the affected votes - even if they influenced the outcome.
Bei dem zweiten Halbfinale am Donnerstag hatten sich weitere zehn Länder für die Endrunde am Samstag mit dann insgesamt 25 Teilnehmern qualifiziert: Finnland, Polen, Belgien, Schweden Estland, Aserbaidschan, die Tschechische Republik, Rumänien, Serbien und Australien.
In the second semifinal on Thursday, another ten countries had qualified for the final round on Saturday with then a total of 25 participants: Finland, Poland, Belgium, Sweden, Estonia, Azerbaijan, the Czech Republic, Romania, Serbia and Australia.
Österreich nahm am ersten Halbfinale teil und ist somit nicht betroffen.
Austria participated in the first semifinal and is therefore not affected.
